      <image:title>About - About us</image:title>
<image:caption>Pelican Pediatric Therapy was started to serve children with autism and related disorders in the Shreveport/Bossier community. We have a love for these children that drive us to give everything we have to help them succeed. We understand that every child is different and develops on their own time and in their own way. We take the time to get to know your child and the people involved in their lives so that we can meet them where they are and help them to grow. Each child is evaluated and given an individualized treatment plan based on their unique needs. From there, we work with the family to ensure that the child’s needs are getting met across all environments.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Team - Sara Kate Warren, M.C.D., CCC-SLP</image:title>
<image:caption>I was initially introduced to speech-language pathology at an early age by seeing my younger brother build confidence while improving his articulation skills through his speech therapy sessions. Entering college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in which I could work with people to help them enhance their strengths and to help them improve in areas in which they struggle. After job shadowing my cousin who is an SLP, I knew that this was the career for me! I received a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana Tech University in 2013, and I graduated from LSU Health with a Master of Communication Disorders in 2015. I have had the opportunity to work in this career field in the Shreveport – Bossier area for almost 7 years with the majority of these years spent working in a pediatric setting. Knowing that each child learns in his or her own way, I strive to create unique treatment plans that work best for children and their families. I will work with you as parents, as well as other professionals (e.g. M.D., teachers, therapists), as a team member to meet goals for your child! I hope to get the opportunity to love on your child, celebrate your child’s victories, and help your child gain confidence to be the best he or she can be! 318.606.5706 info@pelicanpediatrictherapy.org</image:caption>

<image:caption>I was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana. I earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Special Education from Louisiana State University in 2023. In 2025. I graduated with a Master of Communication Disorders from LSU Health Shreveport. The ability to work with children initially drew me to the field of speech-language pathology. Working closely with SLPs throughout my time in school expanded my view of the field and validated the call I felt to help kids feel heard, understood, and confident. I appreciate the opportunity it gives me to teach children strategies and help them through challenges while also learning from them! My goal is to make treatment approachable and enjoyable for children and their families.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I’m a Golden Retriever and proud therapy dog at Pelican Pediatric Therapy. I absolutely love people, especially kids. I’m here to bring comfort, smiles, and a little extra joy to everyone I meet. Whether I’m sitting calmly during a session or offering a friendly nuzzle when someone needs it most, I’m always ready to lend a paw. My gentle nature and love for companionship make me a perfect fit for supporting children, teens, and families during their therapy journey. When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll find me chasing tennis balls, enjoying belly rubs, or sneaking in an extra nap.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Samantha Legg, BCBA, LBA My journey began when my younger brother was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome as a child. My parents were never educated in behavioral therapy, and never knew about the many services that he could receive. During my time in undergrad, I was exposed to the wonderful world of ABA, and while my heart was broken that these services were not made available to him, it was also filled with joy as I realized that this was where I belonged. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University at Alexandria followed by my Master’s in Psychology focused in Applied Behavior Analysis. As a Behavior Analyst, I see many different children with their own unique strengths and qualities. Where they are weak, I will aim to strengthen them. I want to give your child the best chance they have at surviving this strange and complicated world we live in! My goal as a BCBA is also to show families who have children with autism that they are not alone, and that there is hope. I have seen so many parents feeling helpless and burned out as they struggle to make progress with their child. They just want someone to help them and hear them. I am here to be that person! I am here to listen, to love, and to lead you and your child toward their full potential. Psalm 139:14 declares that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Embrace it and let his light shine through you and your children! 318.606.5706 info@pelicanpediatrictherapy.org</image:caption>
