Entering college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in which I could work with people to help them enhance their strengths and to help them improve in areas in which they struggle. After job shadowing my cousin who is an SLP, I knew that this was the career for me! I received a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana Tech University in 2013, and I graduated from LSU Health with a Master of Communication Disorders in 2015. I have had the opportunity to work in this career field in the Shreveport – Bossier area for almost 7 years with the majority of these years spent working in a pediatric setting. My parents were never educated in behavioral therapy, and never knew about the many services that he could receive. During my time in undergrad, I was exposed to the wonderful world of ABA, and while my heart was broken that these services were not made available to him, it was also filled with joy as I realized that this was where I belonged. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University at Alexandria followed by my Master’s in Psychology focused in Applied Behavior Analysis. As a Behavior Analyst, I see many different children with their own unique strengths and qualities. Where they are weak, I will aim to strengthen them. I want to give your child the best chance they have at surviving this strange and complicated world we live in! My goal as a BCBA is also to show families who have children with autism that they are not alone, and that there is hope.
